Timber is usually the first part of a roof to go. Fascia boards, barge boards and eaves linings sit right on the edge of the house where they cop sun, rain and everything the gutter overflows, and once water gets past the paint, rot works its way along the board quietly. By the time the paint is bubbling, the timber behind it has often been soft for a while.
It matters more than it looks, because that timber is what your guttering hangs off and what closes the roof in at the edge. We cut the decayed sections back to sound wood, replace them in treated timber or a metal alternative if you would rather never paint it again, and match the profile so it sits right with the rest of the roofline. If the trouble has reached the rafters or battens underneath, we deal with that too, and we will show you a photo of what we found before we do anything about it.

Usually, yes. Rafters, battens and truss members can generally be repaired or sistered from inside the roof space or by lifting only the tiles above the damaged section. A full strip is only needed when the damage is widespread, and we will tell you honestly which one you are dealing with.
